In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Path to Peace Foundation Canada organized a Free Clothing Giveaway Event on Saturday, June 7, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 8007 Bowness Rd, NW, Calgary. Hundreds of attendees flocked to the venue, eager to refresh their wardrobes with gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories.

A Huge Success
The event was a resounding success, thanks to the tireless efforts of the coordinators, including Anitha Santhosh, Muhammad Rafeek Sulaiman, Sandeep Sam Alexander, Dr. Susan Chandy, and Noble Augustine. Prior to the giveaway event, the foundation conducted a month-long clothing drive, collecting a vast array of donations from multiple families and businesses in and around Calgary.

Donations Collected
The clothing drive yielded an impressive collection of items, including:

– Tops: shirts, blouses, T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, and jackets
– Bottoms: pants, jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses
– Footwear: shoes, boots, sandals, and socks
– Accessories: scarves, hats, belts, gloves, and jewelry
– Outerwear: coats, parkas, and trench coats
– Cultural attire: sarees, kurtas, and salwar kameez

The donations were also categorized to cater to different demographics:

– For Men: shirts, pants, jeans, jackets, and suits
– For Women: dresses, tops, leggings, skirts, and scarves
– For Kids: T-shirts, shorts, dresses, and sweaters

Clothing Drives
The foundation conducted two successful clothing drives in collaboration with the Malayalee Cultural Association of Calgary (MCAC) and the North American Media-Center for Malayalam Arts & Literature (NAMMAL). The first clothing drive was held at “Kerala Nite 2025” on May 3, 2025, at RCCG House of Praise, where over 500 people gathered to celebrate multiculturalism. The second drive took place on May 17, 2025, at “AARAVAM 2025,” a multicultural celebration of arts and diversity, presented by NAMMAL at Glenmore Christian Academy.

Gratitude
Path to Peace Foundation Canada extended their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to their clothes drive. In a press note, the organization expressed their deep appreciation to their generous donors and valued partners, including MCAC, SMTSMCC, Murugan Temple, and Pelican Mission Foundation, whose support was invaluable in spreading the word about the event.

Impact
Thanks to the kindness and cooperation of donors, the foundation was able to support approximately 100 families in Calgary with much-needed clothing. The event was a testament to the power of community and the impact that can be made when people come together to support a good cause.
