BRAMPTON, ON – Peel Regional Police have dismantled a coordinated carjacking network operating across the Greater Toronto Area under Project High Guard, arresting 10 individuals and laying 128 criminal charges.
According to police, the Central Robbery Bureau investigated 21 violent incidents between June 2025 and April 2026 where victims were threatened with knives and firearms and physically assaulted, with some suffering severe injuries.
The investigation revealed the crimes were not random but part of an organized network that targeted high-end vehicles, planned robberies, and recruited younger offenders to carry them out.
On September 3, officers executed coordinated search warrants across Brampton, Mississauga, Halton Hills and Oakville with support from Ontario Provincial Police, Toronto Police, Halton Police and Hamilton Police.

Two youths, 17, from Brampton and Mississauga (identities protected under YCJA)
Police recovered 15 stolen vehicles valued at $1.4 million and seized four illegal firearms with ammunition and magazines.
The operation was funded by the Ontario Government through the Ministry of the Solicitor General and supported by Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario (CISO).
“Through Project High Guard, our investigators successfully worked up the chain, identifying not only those responsible for carrying out these robberies, but also the individuals alleged to have directed and benefited from them,” said Chief Nishan Duraiappah, Peel Regional Police.
“Organized criminals who terrorize our communities through violent carjackings have no place on Ontario’s streets,” said Solicitor General Michael S. Kerzner.

2025 ജൂൺ മുതൽ 2026 ഏപ്രിൽ വരെ 21 കാർജാക്കിംഗ് സംഭവങ്ങളാണ് അന്വേഷിച്ചത്. കത്തിയും തോക്കും കാട്ടി ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തി, ഇരകളെ മർദ്ദിച്ച് വാഹനങ്ങൾ തട്ടിയെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു രീതി. ചിലർക്ക് ഗുരുതര പരിക്കേറ്റു.
ഇത് ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട സംഭവങ്ങളല്ല, മറിച്ച് ആഡംബര വാഹനങ്ങൾ ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ട്, മോഷണങ്ങൾ ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്ത്, പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞവരെ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കുറ്റകൃത്യം നടത്തുന്ന സംഘടിത ശൃംഖലയാണെന്ന് പോലീസ് കണ്ടെത്തി.
സെപ്റ്റംബർ 3ന് ബ്രാംപ്ടൺ, മിസിസാഗ, ഹാൾട്ടൺ ഹിൽസ്, ഓക്ക്‌വില്ല എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ ഒരേ സമയം നടത്തിയ റെയ്ഡിലാണ് പ്രതികൾ പിടിയിലായത്. ഒന്റാറിയോ പ്രൊവിൻഷ്യൽ പോലീസ്, ടൊറന്റോ, ഹാൾട്ടൺ, ഹാമിൽട്ടൺ പോലീസ് സേനകളും സഹായിച്ചു.
